British glovemaker awarded royal warrant

Dents of England, which has been making handmade leather and lace gloves since 1777, has been awarded a royal warrant for its manufacturing services.

Based in Warminster, Wiltshire, the British glovemaker has been appointed a royal warrant by HRH The Prince of Wales as manufacturers of gloves.

Dents has longstanding royal connections, the glovemaker made Queen Elizabeth II Coronation glove, as well as gloves for Queen Victoria and King George VI. The company has also had a number of royal visits over the years including most recently from Duchess of Cornwall who presented long-service awards to some of its staff.

Commenting on the honour, Dents chief executive Deborah Moore said: “We are enormously proud to have been awarded a royal warrant. This is a real tribute to everyone who works at Dents and to the quality of our gloves.”

Dents doesn’t just make gloves but also handbags, wallets and belts, and currently exports to around 40 countries around the world.

Other clothing and accessories brands who have been granted a royal warrant includes Austin Reed, Burberry, Daks, Ede and Ravenscroft, Gieves and Hawkes, House of Fraser, Hunter, Barbour, John Smedley, Johnstons of Elgin, and Pringle of Scotland.
