Burberry to launch underwear range

Get ready for luxury check lingerie! Burberry is expected to launch a new underwear range and plans to use a new format for a store in the UK, according to designer Christopher Bailey. In a statement to Reuters, Bailey said: "An underwear range is something that we've played with... and we'll possibly launch something. At the moment we're not really talking about a launch date but it's something that's absolutely in the pipeline."
Bailey said the brand's accessory business, which includes bags and gloves, was "on fire... it's going amazing, unbelievably well", and said Burberry was launching a luggage collection.
The brand's new store formats had improved revenues, he added, and a refurbishment of a store in the UK was planned in the new styles, which focus on a "southern" fresh concept and a "northern" cosier look.
"We've had a great reaction... the comps (comparisons) are well up when we open these new stores," he said. "We haven't got (a new format store) in the UK yet but we're about to announce one," he added. "It's actually a (refurbishment) as opposed to a new store."
