C'N'C's function vs fashion bag

High fashion and function rarely go hand in hand. The key attribute to dressing to the nines is about looking glamorous, epitomised by the function of your stiletto height, not about any sort of practical use.

C'N'C' Costume National has aimed to defy that function be left out of the fashion equation. The company has designed a super chic bag able to recharge your iPhone or Blackberry when it runs out of battery.

C'N'C designer Ennio Capasa has come up with the Solar bag, a handbag available from autumn, on which fine strips of mini solar panels that decorate the front provide power to a supply concealed in the lining. "I put a challenge into the project: to make Italian luxury contemporary," Capasa told Womenswear Daily. "I imagined a pop, chic bag and I am satisfied with the result." Capasa also created a bag with a step counter to measure how many steps you can take 4 inches off the ground.

The Solar bag comes in either burgundy or black suede.
