Cecil introduces menswear

German fashion brand Cecil, formally owned by British companies Apax Partners and Cinven, will launch a separate clothing range for men called Cecil Men. Nowadays part of CBR Fashion Holding, the fashion group which also owns Street One and One Touch. From half July, Cecil Men will be available in stores. It is for the first time CBR aims on the male fashion market between 25-45 years.

Cecil Men will be introduced as an independent brand with its own design, sales and marketing departments. Each year, the male fashion label will design 12 collections and will work with a ‘Never-out-of-Stock’ system; delivering products within 24hrs. Prices will range from €9,95 tot €39,95 for T-shirts and from €49,95 to €69,95 for trousers.

The high street label shall be available at mixed men stores and department stores aiming on 400 point of sales. For upcoming year, Cecil Men is looking to open brand owned stores in Germany, the Netherlands and Austria. The brand is planning store openings in Belgium and Switzerland for 2009. The following year, Cecil Men wants to open stores in all other countries where the Cecil brand already is represented. Cecil Men is workings towards 1000 stockists in total.

Cecil was launched in 1989 and features currently 370 shops, 770 shop-in-shops and 2150 point of sales. The fashion label is available in Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Luxemburg, Slovakia, Italy and Sweden. Street One was the first brand of CBR, intercepted in 1983. In 2004 two British parties Apax Partners and Cinven bought Cecil. In 2007 the company was acquired by Swedish investing business EQT, which booked a profit of €700 million.
