London - British accessories designer Charlotte Olympia has launched a capsule collection of Barbie-inspired shoes and clutches to celebrate her very own Barbie doll that has been designed in her likeness.
The limited edition doll has been inspired by founder and creative director Charlotte Olympia Dellal’s love of old Hollywood glamour and mirrors the 1959 original look Barbie doll. Priced at 95 pounds, the exclusive Barbie doll is wearing a two-piece leopard-print outfit accented with the label’s signature red Dolly platform heels and a classic red Bogart leather handbag with matching red gloves.
In addition, the doll which comes in a collectors packaging also includes a selection of the brand’s most recognisable designs such as the brand’s mascot, ‘Bruce’ the leopard, holding a Charlotte Olympia shopping tote. Other accessories include the iconic Kitty flats, Eve platform sandals, the transparent Pandora clutch box, the Banana bag, web logo fascinator, gold spider web earrings, ivory cat-eye sunglasses and a Charlotte Olympia shoebox complete with dust bag.
Commenting on her collaboration, Dellal said: “This was a childhood dream come true to collaborate with Barbie! It was a fantastic opportunity to be able to design and create a Charlotte Olympia aesthetic for one of the most iconic figures in the world.”

The doll is accompanied by a capsule collection of shoes and clutches, highlights include the Barbie Girl shoes with pink Marabou feathers, a block perspex heel, and signature island platform. The iconic Kitty flats have had a Barbie makeover, dressed up in pink retro sunglasses and pouty lips embroidered onto black and leopard print velvet uppers, which are also available in Incy sizes for little girls.
There are also two clutches including the Barbie Vanina, an all-pink leather clutch box with a gold and hand-painted enamel Barbie logo clasp, and Barbie World, a blush perspex box clutch with magnetic miniature accessories imagined from Barbie’s dressing room.
“There is something playful about all of Charlotte Olympia Dellal’s designs, which in addition to her being a talented designer, make for a perfect collaboration,” added Robert Best, senior director of Barbie Design. “Flats never looked so good on Barbie.”
The Barbie doll and capsule collection are available from Charlotte Olympia stores and online, as well as at Net-a-Porter.
Barbie has done numerous collaborations over the years with fashion designers including Sophia Webster, Karl Lagerfeld, Christian Louboutin and Coach.
