Dior to stage resort show in Santa Monica

California is becoming an increasingly popular destination for runway show. Dior has announced the location for their next resort show, and they have selected Santa Monica, California. Designer Maria Grazia Chiuri's plans to stage the next Cruise show in California were announced at the end of last year.
The site for the show will be the Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space Preserve within the Santa Monica Mountains. It will be the first time the space will be used for a fashion show.
Since taking over as designer for the brand, Chiuri has done many innovative things to keep the brands momentum consistent.
She recently staged a couture runway show in Japan in honor of the brand's new boutique in Ginza.
Like other competing luxury brands, including Gucci and Louis Vuitton, Dior has found an unconventional, Instagram-worthy location for their runway shows. Gucci recently announced they would be showing in Florence at the Palatina Gallery, and Louis Vuitton will be showing in Japan at I.M. Pei's Miho Museum.
What other locations are in store for resort this season? These designers are certainly keeping us on our toes.
