Credited for reviving Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, Tom Ford announced he is going to direct his first feature film starring Colin Frith, Julianne Moore and Matthew Goode. The film is based on the novel ‘A Single Man’ by Christopher Isherwood and will carry the same name. Ford’s film production company 'Fade to Black' is producing the dramatic love story together with Chris Weitz and Andrew Miano of 'Depth of Field', and Robert Salerno of 'Artina Films'. The shooting days are scheduled for the beginning of November on location in Los Angeles.

Ford left the Gucci Group in 2004 and formed a year later both his Los Angeles based film production company, as well as his fashion company Tom Ford. Nowadays, Tom Ford shops can be found all over the world including New York, Milan, Osaka, Sao Paolo, Las Vegas, Hong Kong, Dubai, Toronto, Istanbul, San Francisco, and London.

A Single Man is independently financed. Foreign sales are being handled at IM Global a leading international sales and distribution company headed by Stuart Ford, with offices in Los Angeles and London.
