Dobotex contracts FashionUnited for a strategic eBusiness partnership

Dobotex has built a strong market position in the bodyfashion branch with the licenses for socks of international A-brands such as Puma and Marc O'Polo: a yearly production of approximately 65 million pairs of socks. The development, sales and distribution are realized by the head-office, production takes place in Turkey and the Far East. Not only the European key retailers but also the independent merchants are reached through a strong international network of 120 sales representatives within and outside of Europe.

Dobotex has contracted FashionUnited eBusiness, Almere (NL) for their strategic partnership in order to optimize current processes between Dobotex and her customers, and to optimize support new business models with her customers. The FashionUnited eBusiness Suite will be used (EDI messaging in service, CatalogManager, several sales monitors and the TradeManager) to realize the challenges and development that Dobotex has in mind:

* Dobotex and her customers have a joint interest in the optimization of the company processes within the chain. * Supply chain thinking leads to renewed business models, such as concession, vendor managed inventory and shop-in-shop. Information and analyzing of sales figures from the different sales locations are of crucial importance. * The 'winners' in the market make it possible to have their business processes electronically connected to the business processes of their partners. * Dobotex will be able to exchange electronic messages in a flexible way between her back office system and the back office system of her business partners, both local en international. * Dobotex will be able to have trustworthy (one version of the truth) and accurate (detailed enough) product information at SKU level available to all buyers around the world.

Dobotex will move her logistic operation, with more than 80 employees, from Den Bosch to a new to develop location in Tilburg, The Netherlands in June 2007. With the move, the eBusiness partnership with FashionUnited and the strong licenses, Dobotex is ready for further global expansion.
