Drapers Award Winner

The winner of this year’s British Fashion Council Colleges Portfolio Award has been announced and was given to the college that presented the best overall portfolio of fashion student work. Kingston University won the Portfolio Award, which was held in association with trade publication Drapers. The fashion magazine’s editor Lauretta Roberts announced Kingston as the award recipient during the BFC Colleges Council Open Day that took place at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) building on, Tuesday 8th April 2008. London College of Fashion and Edinburgh College of Art were also highly commended.

Over 20 Colleges exhibited were judged by Anne Tyrrell, BFC Colleges Council Chair, Lauretta Roberts, editor of Drapers, Gary Edgley menswear buyer for Selfridges, Erin Mullaney, womenswear buyer for Browns and London Fashion Week designers Erdem Moralioglu and Jens Laugesen. The annual Colleges Council Open Day is organised by the British Fashion Council to foster relationships between graduates and industry.
