Especially for The Duke of Edinburgh Award, British outdoor clothing company Craghoppers produced a special range. The designs will be available for SS2010 and will feature essential kit for the adventures young people undertake during their DofE programme, in particular the Expedition section.

Craghoppers are renowned for their innovative approach, producing technically advanced fabrics that keep the wearer comfortable, dry and provide essential screening from the sun’s UV rays. The Craghoppers collection will be available for both male and female in a range of contemporary colours. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award collection will be available for the trade to view from mid June 09 and will be stocked in stores from February 2010. The range will be available through outdoor stockists. Prices for the collection will range from £20 to £100.

DofE CEO Peter Westgarth said: “The Craghoppers DofE range of gear has been specifically designed for performance and comfort on any level of DofE expedition. Craghoppers are as passionate as we are to provide DofE participants with a great choice of gear that will help them achieve their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and be prepared for all conditions. We are proud to have worked with Craghoppers to produce a range of clothes that has been designed using their innovation and our shared expertise. We are sure that this will be a rewarding and successful partnership benefiting anyone who buys this excellent clothing and in doing so support our youth charity.”

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award was founded in 1956 by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, who remains the Patron. Last year, over 275,000 young people were taking part in DofE programmes in the UK. Over 30,000 of these young people were from disadvantaged backgrounds.
