On Monday July 21st, the Dutch Fashion Foundation is hosting Prelude, 'A Spring/Summer 2009 Salon'. The fashion platform will show the SS09 collections of young fashion designers Sjaak Hullekes, Sebastic, Corné Gabriëls. Mattijs and Marcha Huskes will be debuting this season and Mattijs' collection will also be launching exclusively at London boutique Browns Focus this August. For SS09, Prelude organises a special salon programme exclusive to the fashion industry taking place at the back drop of the City Archives of Amsterdam / De Bazel Conference Centre.
Every season, the Dutch Fashion Foundation presents new up and coming talent at Prelude. For four seasons, the designers have the opportunity to present their collections at a high-end level in the form of a catwalk show, tableau vivant or other installation. Car giant Mercedes-Benz is the main sponsor of the event and by supporting the Dutch Fashion Foundation the brand wants to stimulate international recognition for the Dutch fashion industry. This collaboration is ongoing and growing, hence the launch of the Mercedes-Benz Dutch Fashion Awards last year. The second edition of the award ceremony will take place on 7th November 2008.
