London - Contemporary brand Emporio Armani is entering the field of connected wearables with a collection of hybrid smartwatches that combines the brand’s timepieces with wearable technology.

Launching this week, the hybrid smartwatches allow the users to sync the timepieces to their smartphones via Bluetooth and allow them to automatically change time zones while travelling, send discreet notifications of calls and messages, as well as control their music and monitor their sleep patterns.

Other features include activity tracking, schedule alarms, the ability to location your misplaced smartphone, as well as wireless take phones on your smartphone. Plus the quartz batteries allow for prolonged use without the need to recharge.

The devices are available in a choice of rose gold-tone, black, gunmetal, and stainless steel, with a three-piece link or leather strap, and feature a texturised face, with rose gold-tone or silver hands. Prices range from 199 pounds to 359 pounds.

"Today, technology decisively influences our daily lives. There's an app for everything, and I find that in many cases they're inventions that actually improve our lives,” said Giorgio Armani. “I'm delighted to present a hybrid smartwatch, which marks the entrance of Emporio Armani, a brand always at the forefront of innovation, into the world of connected accessories. This line of timepieces combines stylistic research, high technological content, immediacy, and ease of use.”

The launch of Emporio Armani hybrid smartwatches is the first step of a wider project from the brand that will culminate in 2017 with the official presentation of the first Emporio Armani display smartwatch.
