Lingerie brand Eres is joining London Craft Week in May to showcase insight into making lace lingerie, and how it produces styles that conceal technical details such as chain stitching and a flat assembly of pieces.

London Craft Week, which takes place across the city from May 3 to 7, features workshops and unknown makers alongside celebrated masters, famous studios, galleries, shops and luxury brands, and Eres will be sharing its lingerie journey from the original sketch to the work of threading and construction with demonstrations from its Burlington Arcade boutique.

For Eres, the art of lingerie has always been associated with tradition and French “savoir-faire,” with perfecting the fabrics at the heart of the creation process, and its involvement with the London Craft Week will share the craft of using lace in lingerie making.

The aim of London Craft Week is to allow the public to experience the magic of true creativity, see what real quality means, meet some of the world’s most respected makers and artists and even have a try. Last year’s event featured more than 70 events, 20,000 visits, and 350 makers.

For 2016, the London Craft Week is expected to host more than 129 events, 214 makers talking, demonstrating and exhibiting, representing 22 international markets and covering 55 disciplines.

“London has long had a Fashion Week and a Design Festival. Now there is London Craft Week, a celebration of the magical combination of imagination, individuality, passion and skill found in the best-made of things,” explains London Craft Week chairman, Guy Salter.
