Belgian fashion brand Essentiel Antwerp is launching a website for its own second-hand items. The website has been named 'Re-ssentiel' and went live on September 2022, the company told Belgian news platform HLN.
"I always take inspiration from vintage and second-hand, my 'wardrobe light' full of pre-loved items," a statement from Inge Onsea, co-founder and creative director of the brand reports on the website. "Our garments are designed to last. I am therefore extremely happy that items from Essentiel Antwerp get the chance to have a second life and that we can offer this service to our customers. This way, designing becomes twice as fun."
Essentiel Antwerp takes over items from consumers if they meet a number of conditions. The brand then proposes a fixed price for an item. Consumers send the garment for free and Essentiel prepares the brand for sale. Consumers are paid immediately, even before the item is sold. They receive a credit that they can use to create a voucher that they can use on the second-hand website, or at Essentiel Antwerp's regular website. The website is currently only accessible to Belgian customers, HLN reported.
Essentiel Antwerp is known for its colourful and outspoken designs. The brand has several shops in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and the UK.
