UK Fashion Exports has been moved under the British Clothing Industry Association umbrella as part of a plan to create a single voice for the country's fashion and textile industry, reported WGSN on Friday.
Peter Lucas, chairman of the BCIA, said his aim was to "use BCIA's structure and financial strength to bring the industry together in one streamlined organisation".
The combined expertise of the two operations will provide members with a range of services covering a variety of issues including legal, technical, health and safety and employment, as well as exporting, importing, sales and marketing, shows and exhibitions and training and development.
British Clothing Industry Association and UK Fashion Exports sit at the core of their market, working ceaselessly for the benefit of fashion, clothing and knitting businesses across the UK.
With a common membership agreement, whereby BCIA members benefit from the services of UKFE and vice versa, the two organisations work with and support a large proportion of the industry.
BCIA guides and advises its members on all the essential aspects of running a business and supplying clothing and knitwear to the global marketplace. UKFE gives help and advice on how to achieve sales in overseas markets.
