National design competition Fashion Fringe is going support upcoming footwear designers alongside budding fashion designers. Launched four years ago, Fashion Fringe is working with luxurious footwear designer Rupert Sanderson to create a platform for upcoming shoe designers.

The winner of the Fashion Fringe extension is offered 6-10 months paid working apprenticeship at Rupert Sanderson. Within the programme the winner will be offered a one months stay at the factories in Italy to give a complete overview of the luxury shoe industry.

Being part of Fashion Fringe, all applications are managed via the competition's website, which can be submitted from May 5th until June 13th. The five most promising designers will be interviewed by the judging panel, which is chaired by shoe designer Manolo Blahnik. The interviews will take place on June 23rd and the next day the winner will be announced.
