Fashion in bloom
loading...
From purple flower print dresses presented on carpets of grass and violets at Yves Saint Laurent to fresh flowers in most of the Louis Vuitton gift bags (Marc Jacobs decorated his entire shop in fresh flowers for his London opening), spring summer fashion is literally in bloom. Real blossoms were seen at Alexander McQueen's Paris show, who used fresh flowers to create a stunning dress, albeit with a very short sell-day date, even by today's short fashion lifespan.
With fashion celebrating all things floral, a romantic mood has emerged from the spring summer catwalks and frilly detailing, delicate ribbon ties and layered dresses emerging as key trends. Look for pretty florals, graphic or folksy prints, or alternatively go for feminine and romantic. Designer labels to look out for are Chloe, Louis Vuitton, Vivienne Westwood and Tibi. High street equivalents can be found at Dorothy Perkins, River Island and New Look. For the adventurous, opt for floral headdresses, plastic floral jewellery and giant corsages. L'Air du Temps anyone?
