In collaboration with Stimuli, Fashion Off! presents 'Art Against Knives' at the closing of London Fashion Week. The initiative is in aid of Oliver Hemsley, a 20-year-old fashion student from Central St Martin’s College, who was stabbed repeatedly by a 15-year-old assailant in an unprovoked attack outside the George & Dragon pub in Shoreditch on 28th August 2008.

Oliver Hemsley arrived clinically dead at hospital, he was successfully resuscitated then spent months on a life support machine. Tragically, his spinal cord was severed in the attack leaving him paralysed from the neck down; he will never walk again, will require constant medical attention and will continue to struggle for the rest of his life.

Oli’s friends, are determined to salvage something positive from this, and have set up Art Against Knives. Well known names and faces who have already pledged their support include Banksy, Vivienne Westwood, Tim Walker, Christopher Kane, Patrick Wolfe, Wolfgang Tillmans, Giles Deacon, Marios Schwab, Tracey Emin, Anthony Gormley, Lucy Hutchings, Meadham Kirchhoff, Ksubi with Jeremy Scott, Patrick Lee Yow , James Long, Kelly McCullum, Richard Nicoll, Rankin, Roksanda IIlincic, Seb Chew, Fern Cotton, Will Broome, Wolfgang Tillmans, David David and James Long.

The closing event of London Fashion Week will take place on 23rd September 2009 featuring Mr. C, Smokin Jo, Bones, Xochitl West, DJ Red.
