Fashion Scout names Ones to Watch for SS16

Fashion Scout, the British platform for emerging talent, has announced the 'Ones to Watch' for Spring-Summer 2016. Anita Hirlekar, JS Shin, Leaf Xia and Typical Freaks have been named as the designers to watch during the up coming London Fashion Week.

"The combination of our four designers chosen from countries as diverse as China and Iceland promises to be our most exciting season ever," said Fashion Scout's founder and director Martyn Roberts to British Vogue. Hirlekar, a graduate from Central Saint Martins MA Fashion Textiles course, is known for innovative use of fabrics. Currently in the process of launching her luxury womenswear label, which is based in Iceland, she has a number distinctions under her belt including a handbag collaboration with Bvlgari.

Joon-Sik Shin, graduate of Fashion Design Technology womenswear at London College of Fashion, Shin is the designer behind the newly launch label JS Shin, known for its luxury tailoring combined with hand-craft details. Leaf Xia, a Parson graduate, focuses on colours, print and strong silhouettes in her garment designs. Typi cal Freaks is designed by C SM MA graduate Seun Ade-Onojobi and London College of Fashion gr graduate Sonia Xiao , who together create an eccentric statement on fashion, full of humour, craftsmanship and integrity

Selected from a shortlist of 50 emerging designers by a panel of industry, the named designers are set to present their new collections during a catwalk showcase as well as being a part of Fashion Scout's exhibition during LFW. The exhibition w ill take place at Freemasons Hall in London's Covent Garden from September 18 to 22. Previous designers to have showcased with Fashion Scout include David Koma, Felder Felder, Helen Lawrence, Eudon Choi and Agi & Sam.
