Danish charity programme FashionAid, an initiative by the Federation of Danish Textile and Clothing is pleased to announce 12 tonnes of clothing have been donated. Launched half a year ago during Copenhagen fashion week in August 2008, Federation members donated the garments, which have now been forwarded to people in need in developing countries across the globe.

The programme's first initiative was to enter into a partnership with The Danish Red Cross concerning collections of clothing companies' surplus or faulty produced clothes, but perfectly wearable.

At the end of last month another FashionAid project was set up to collect clothing for children. Trade employees collected approximately 50 removal boxes full of second hand toys that will be distributed through the Federation's partners at Danish recycle centres. FashionAid Collect for Kids is expected to take place every December from now on.

FashionAid Originator and Lawyer, Mikkel Gudsøe is very pleased with the result of this untraditional trade initiative, and he is looking forward to work on more FashionAid projects. "FashionAid is a unique project as it gives the whole trade easy access to flexible and an ongoing charity projects through various activities and business partners," says Mikkel Gudsøe.
