The festival season is upon us, with the iconic Glastonbury music jamboree taking place end of June, where the UK's music and fashion aficionados come together to listen to some the world's greatest performing artists. The romantic aspect of spending three days in the field looking the glorious part of a fashionable rock & roll buff is not as easy as it sounds, especially with the volatile weather that descends on the largest greenfield festival in the world, where anything from windswept rain to tropical heat can be expected. Furthermore, sleeping in a tent and spending the days dancing to over 300 live performances spread over 900 acres means careful wardrobe planning is of the utmost importance.

The obligatory outfits will include a selection of comfortable t-shirts and tanks; think Kate Moss in an iconic C&C California vest with cut-off denim shorts and wellies. A great outfit for any festival day where you're fashionably prepared come rain or shine and won't have to head back to the tents when your feet get muddied in the grass.

For chilly evenings and days when the sun's on a hiatus there's only one jacket to wear; Barbour's flyweight waxed cotton jacket in classic black or olive. Barbour this summer introduced its most lightweight collection to date making it a festival necessity being as stylish as it is durable and weatherproof.

For wellies, the original Hunter Wellingtons are the only boot to wear. Originally designed for walking in Scotland's rugged terrain and combating its unpredictable weather, no festival is complete without the obligatory boots, and are now available in a multitude of colours.

Complete the look with a cool pair of shades. A rock & roll lifestyle, even if it is to only last three days, requires the perfect pair of glasses. Try Cutler & Gross for their delectable frames. The collections are inspired by the worlds of music and the arts and aren't ostentatious or too bling, making them discerningly rock & roll.
