Finalists 3rd Mango Fashion Awards

Competing for a prize of 300,000 Euros, Mango has selected the 10 finalists of the third edition of the ‘El Boton’ Mango Fashion Awards, an event aimed at supporting new international talent. The jury was made up of five international design schools including Central Saint Martins, the Institut Francais de la Mode in Paris, the Istituto Marangoni in Milan, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, and the Escola Superior de Disseny, Barcelona and representatives from Mango.

The finalists are the British design duo Matthew Cunningham and John Sanderson, and fellow Brit Jean-Pierre Braganza, Michael Sontag from Germany, the Italian Rocco Iannone, Harvey Bouterse and Helena Lumelsky both from Belgium, the Spanish duo Javier Zazo and Clara Bull, the Austrian Isabelle Steger, Motonari Ono from Japan, and the Italian duo Fabio Sasso and Juan D. Caro.

Over 200 designers entered, and the final 10 were announced during the AW10 catwalk show held in Madrid on 26th May. The finalists were awarded a cheque for 18,000 Euros to start designing their collection. The winner will be announced in October. Previous winners have been Sandrina Fasoli who launched their collection for Mango for SS09, and most recently the Korean Lee Jean Youn whose collection has just launched in the stores.
