The finalists for the Global Student Design Competition (SDC) have been announced. The students will compete for the SDC Colour Design Award 2008. ??
Young designers from around the world will soon start arriving in Bradford for the grand final of the Society of Dyers and Colourists (SDC) global design competition. Aimed at encouraging the creative and inspired use of colour in fashion and textile design, the first edition of the competition has been run in conjunction with ?SDC regions/affiliates around the globe. ??Working to a universal brief, each region was responsible for organising, judging and sponsoring ?the local heats and the finalists have all now been selected. In total, 11 finalists have been selected from the overseas regions/affiliates and the UK SDC regions. London will be represented by Danielle Lewis form Colchester School of Art and Design.
The winner will be announced on Friday 18th April at the awards dinner in Bradford following on from the Society’s Day of Celebration. The work of all the finalists will be exhibited for the duration of the event and in the SDC online gallery. The SDC Colour Design Award 2008 will go to the global winner, with a cash prize of £1000 plus the Veronica Bell Award.
