Finalists UK Fashion Export Awards

Actress Joanna Lumley will be hosting this year’s UK Fashion Export Awards, which will be presented on 4 June 2009 at The Landmark London. This year, finalists are revealed in seven of the 11 categories including Accessories, Contemporary, Heritage, High Octane Glamour, Lingerie & Beach Fashion, New Exporter and Small Business. Ben Sherman (Contemporary), John Smedley (Heritage), Myla (Glamour and Lingerie & Beach), and Pistol Panties (Small Business) are among the finalists.

The judging panel, chaired by Steve Newbold, managing director, Emap Connect, included Muriel Piaser, representing Prêt à Porter Paris, Nick Cook of Moda Menswear, Stuart Rock of Real Business and Sue Butler of Kurt Salmon Associates. The winners of the Designer Business, Footwear, Retailer of the Year and the Gold Award will be announced on the day.

The prize list for this year’s UK Fashion Export Awards includes stands at So Ethic in Paris, Moda Menswear in Birmingham, Prêt à Porter Paris or The Train New York, Mode City Paris & Interfilière and Pure Accessories in London. Other prizes include subscriptions to WGSN.com.

UK Fashion Exports is the export division of the British Clothing Industry Association. It offers practical help to British exporters, overseas buyers, agents and press.
