Despite the widespread crisis which is hovering all over the global market behind, Franklin & Marshall achieved a revenue growth in 2008. The Italian brand closed the 2008 financial year with Euro 25 million and a 15% increase in turnover relative to the previous year.
Joseph Albarelli, one of the company founders along with Andrea Pensiero, estimates that in 2009, “Despite the context of high uncertainty, which limits the accurate forecasting of results, our company is already recording an increase in sales compared to one year ago.”
The sales resulting from the marketing campaign (not yet completed) were higher than expected. Albarelli commented: “ We are pleased with these results which confirm the strength of the brand both in our core markets as well as in emerging markets. I must however admit that the current economic situation is, and remains, difficult and should not be underestimated but we believe that the clear positioning of our brand I the sport-casual sector and the flexibility of our business model will help us, as they have done so far, to overcome the crisis.”
