FW23 Children’s wear trends

Held during January, recent trade shows, Pitti Bimbo in Florence and FIMI in Valencia both showed strong trends for fall/winter 23. Here are some of the best on display.
Keep it organic
According to a Pitti Bimbo report, using sustainable, eco-friendly, organic materials is key this season. Yarn is obtained by recycling ocean plastics or PET bottles or made of 100% regenerated polyamide fibers. Then the garments are packaged in recycled paper and sugar cane. A few designers including Ecoco kids, La Ormiga kids and Martin Aranda kids showed playful ditsy prints on organic cotton grounds.
Plaid cotton was another standout. Shown at La Ormiga kids, Martin Aranda kids and Nuditos kids.
Stand on ceremony
There is a demand for special occasion clothing as post pandemic, we return to parties and other celebrations.
Beautiful party dresses were on display at Airen kids, Javilar kids and Mimosine kids.
For the boys, velvet shorts and an embroidered shirt from Mimosine kids.
Northern exposure
The Monnalisa runway show at Pitti Bimbo was full of Scandinavian references including heavy knit sweaters in joyful patterns shown with denim or leggings and yeti boots. In outerwear there was a show stopping faux fur coat over track pants and hiking boots.
The future is bright
Designers showed casual wear in bright colors and patterns. Standouts included a mixed print blouse and blouson with red corduroy pants, orange socks and stone colored hiking boots from PCH kids.
Nuditos kids showed a space-age outfit that included a neon tee shirt and silver quilted pants with a transparent blouson jacket. Siena kids showed how to decorate the hair with colorful wool strands.
