PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, has joined forces with ethical designer shoe company Georgette. At Europe’s website you have the change to win a pair of designer shoes that are completely animal-free. Georgette Shoes have given PETA three pairs of shoes of around £600 to give away.

The ethical shoe brand is based in Belgium and features shoes that are kinder to animals and to the environment. The meat industry isn’t a small and unimportant by-product, the leather industry generates £600 million per year in the UK alone. Unfortunately cows aren't the only animals that suffer, the leather industry claims the lives of millions of snakes, alligators, seals, zebras and other animals.

To create soft durable leather, Georgette works together with small family-run companies in Italy and Spain. Georgette produces its collections made from non-leather and eco-friendly materials, including natural fabrics and Italian faux leathers. The online competition ends 10th September.
