GIVe to target overseas

George Davies, the retail entrepreneur who has dressed two generations of British women, is exploring taking his GIVe range overseas, just months after launching his new label. Mr Davies, who over three decades has given the nation Next, George at Asda and Per Una at Marks and Spencer, launched his fourth label GIVe this autumn.

With sales building, he is now considering taking the concept beyond the UK. “I have always wanted to take my brand international,” he told the Financial Times. He is initially looking at developing GIVe in India and the Middle East. The Gulf markets were attractive, he said, as there was the potential for Middle Eastern shoppers who had visited the GIVe store in Regent Street, London, to continue to buy the clothes when they returned home.
