The Young Talent of Tomorrow Fashion Design Competition has returned for 2027, inviting UK students aged 11 to 18 to design two garments created entirely from reused or recycled materials. Open to secondary students studying textiles, art, or design, the national contest challenges participants to conduct material research, document their creative development, and explore sustainable design techniques through shape, color, and storytelling.

Organizers will select three winning outfits across separate age categories, which will then be physically constructed and showcased at Graduate Fashion Week 2027. In addition to attending the flagship industry event, winners will receive framed prints of their portfolio work and secure placement in an online workshop focused on translating their physical concepts into digital garment designs.

The initiative bridges early secondary education with higher education and the professional fashion sector by embedding sustainable practices into foundational curricula. By offering young designers direct access to digital design tools and exposure at Graduate Fashion Week, the competition fosters early-stage technical literacy and aligns youth talent pipelines with the industry's increasing demand for circular design methodologies.
