The eco trend is developing from just being 'green is the new black' to more exciting fashion statements. Eco-chic clothing label Viridis Luxe will present their new Fall 2008 collection this London Fashion Week.
Viridis Luxe innovatively transforms sustainable fibers into classic clothing with fashion forward twists. To Viridis it's all about "luxury with a conscience" and spreading the message about the importance of sustainable agriculture. With original blends of hemp/cashmere, bamboo/cashmere/silk, and bamboo/organic cotton, the label has creates unusually soft yarns out of the sustainable materials, elevating them to luxurious, must-have fashion status.
This season, the Los Angeles based brand showcases stylish sweaters and knits, sexy tops, and romantic dresses. Hemp has many earth friendly properties, such as never requiring herbicides, pesticides or chemical fertilizers. The fiber is harvested by hand, and natural dyes and no-dioxin bleaches are used in production. Bamboo is a tropical grass that thrives withouht pesticides, chemicals, and irrigation.
Launched in the USA for Autumn/Winter 2007 and the UK for Spring 2008, Viridis has already been picked up by the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Uma Thurman, Sheryl Crow, Eva Mendes, Rosario Dawson, and is stocked in stores worldwide.
Viridis Luxe will be showing in the Estethica section, stand ES23 February 10-13, 2008.
