Sarah Jessica Parker has confirmed a deal with iconic brand Halston to play a key role in the design process. The actress, best known for her fashion forward dress sense in Sex & The City was previously involved with designing her own cut-price collection. Parker’s first foray into the world of celebrity clothing design came with Bitten, her collection of inexpensive casualwear for the now-defunct Steve & Barry stores.

A lower-priced collection, Halston Heritage is different from the more premium Halston collection, which re-launched at New York Fashion Week in Feburary 2008 after being purchased by the Weinstein Company, Hilco Consumer Captal and Tamara Mellon of Jimmy Choo. The original Halston was primarily known for it's minimalist disco dresses seen on the dance floor of famed nightclub Studio 54.

Next month in Feburary London-based designer Marios Schwab will debut his first collection for Halston in New York.
