Summer 2010 sees a new capsule collection by Hapiru, the Los Angeles-based line of delectably chic separates. Designed by Jolie Yi, who further happens to be the founder of one of LA's leading manufacturing houses, the label's handwriting exudes a subtle philosophy in fashion, stressing the importance of high quality and fluidity with an added dash good spirit and simple sophistication.

This season Hapiru's asymmetric tops and languid dresses are California's summer staples and Europeans who have been eyeing the collection will soon be able to buy it first hand when the brand debut's in Europe for Fall 10. Special pieces for next season include cocoon-like jersey shaped tops and breezy silk dresses. Colours are earth-tones, violets and subtle floral prints, keeping in tune with the pared-down chic of the season.

The Hapiru collection aims to inspire a sense of balance that we desire in every aspect of our lives, and the simplicity of wearing a beautiful garment can make one feel confident, graceful but most of all happy. This is the red thread that forms the heart of brand and the Hapiru staples of super soft jerseys and silks create a gorgeous aesthetic that is hard to find.

Hapiru was launched in 2006 when Yi began to design her own pieces with unique construction processes and garment dyes to make it special. Yi began her career with rock and roll luxury brand Chrome Hearts, which at the time had a significant celebrity following, and thus lead to other opportunities.

Yi's manufacturing company is one of LA's finest, where labels such as James Perse and U seek out her craftsmanship of the highest order. Hapiru has good chi: the collection is either eco friendly, using the highest-grade sustainable fabrics, or is 100% organic. Nothing need ever be dry-cleaned.
