Harvey Nic's temporary death trap

Tragedy struck luxury department store Harvey Nichols yesterday when a sales girl was shot and killed by a security guard. The man shot her before turning the gun on himself, thereby ending his own life. Both victims were in their 30s and although circumstances surrounding their deaths are not clear, it is thought that the man had developed an obsession with the woman, who did not reciprocate his ardour. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The shooting took place just before closing time, sending shoppers into a veritable panic. However, no one else was injured and the cordons that were placed around the premises last night were gone by morning.
