Los Angeles - Coming from the entertainment industry, actress Hilary Swank has taken on the role of founder in hew new apparel business. After years of working on the collection, Mission Statement is now fully launched as a womenswear performance apparel line.
In this new collection, Swank’s vision for the line was aimed at more than just providing casual activewear. “There’s athleisure, but people just look like they’re wearing their workout clothes all day,” she told Vogue of the new collection. “I don’t want to look like that, so I set out to design something else.” The pieces include performance-inspired clothing as well as staples for the modern woman. The collection consists of puffer jackets, leather leggings, a leather jacket, light sweaters and more.
As part of the collection, the brand’s ethos consist of motivating shoppers of their personal missions in life, asking “What’s your Mission Statement?” As an inspiration facet of this collection, Mission Statement will also profile profiles on various women on its website, as reported by WWD. This part of the collection is meant to help cultivate shoppers by providing some insight from women in their 20s and 30s. The features will start soon, as currently the entire collection is available through the brand’s e-commerce site.
