Italian beer brand Peroni Nastro Azzurro is searching for eight emerging fashion designers to sit in residency in a new fashion studio in London to present their collections during London Fashion Week.

The House of Peroni has opened applications for new talent across ready-to-wear womenswear and menswear to apply to become part of its mentorship programme with its creative council, which comprises of designer Jonathan Saunders, Dazed and Confused editor-in-chief Isabella Burley, fashion writer Pandora Sykes, Another Magazine editor Alexander Fury and British Fashion Council consultant Anna Orsini.

Emerging designers have until May 20 to apply to become part of The Fashion Studio, which will mentor and counsel them as they create a collection to showcase during London Fashion Week in February.

Hub for the next generation

The Fashion Studio in London will see the eight fashion creatives have access to a fully equipped studio space set up, featuring industrial sewing machines, high-speed overlockers, industrial steam irons and vacuum tables, and mannequins.

The House will act as a hub for the next generation of creative talent and will feature regular talks, events, and workshops, held by industry professionals, covering everything from design, to business models, publicity, and marketing, all with the aim of providing valuable insight into the inner workings of the fashion industry.

They will receive mentoring, counselling and support from the Creative Council, which Peroni said in a press release were “carefully curated for the different skillsets they can offer” to ensure the emerging designers receive a wider understanding of the industry, providing key practical advice and commercial support they need to help them grow their own portfolio.

To apply, designers must be in the early stages of their career and demonstrate originality, style and craft in their applications.
