A bespoke suit that was created for the late Lee Alexander McQueen by tailor Huntsman has returned to its original home at 11 Savile Row. The famed British designer created his first menswear collection in collaboration with Huntsman in 2002, a 12 pieced luxury collection. During the development of the collection, Huntsman created a bespoke suit for the late McQueen's own personal use and presented it to him.
Earlier this year Pierre Lagrange, co-owner of Huntsman won the right to bring the bespoken suit back to its roots at Huntsman, where he aims to display it to the public. "In celebration of a magnificent individual and a true craftsman, we are honored and privileged to have been given the opportunity to purchase Lee Alexander McQueen's personal Huntsman suit. The suit was purchased after a fierce battle, at a record price of 3,700 pounds," said Lagrange.
"It will feature prominently in the Huntsman archives, in remembrance of the unique relationship Huntsman and McQueen held." The suit will be available to view in the Huntsman store at 11 Savile Row from the beginning of August.
