i-D Magazine to publish 6 issues a year

i-D, the contemporary style guide, is to reduce its publishing schedule to six editions a year starting from this summer.

Terry and Tricia Jones, the title's owners, explained the decision to scale back as "responding to and in line with the current economic climate and in order to protect its 30-year heritage and international brand".

The magazine will celebrate its 300th issue in June, and the August issue, which goes on sale in July, will go ahead as planned in order to honour pre-booked pages. From September the title will publish six times a year. Future issues will fall in September, October, November, February, March and April.

i-D is to update its website more often and continue with special projects, including the i-D Soul exhibition. Terry and Tricia said: "We see this restructure as a reinforcement of position and strength towards a magazine and brand."
