Online fashion retailer Asos is dipping its toe into the wedding pool with the launch of its first bridal collection for Spring/Summer 2016, which is sure to score big with all the young brides.
Asos moves into bridal wear
The 18 piece bridal collection was inspired by the 1930s and features slip dresses, tulle dresses and lace gowns in an array of pearly tones in satin fabrics. The collection also offers an alternative to the traditional wedding dress for more daring brides -a cape detailed jumpsuit and a puddle train skirt which can be paired with a lace blouse or sequinned top.
Prices for the range are set to range from 60 pounds for a tulle skirt, to between 95 pounds and 250 pounds for a bridal dress. This accessible prices means that future brides will be able to purchase a complete look for their big day for approximately 400 pounds, which is less than half the average a UK bride spends on the bridal gown alone according to hitched.co.uk.
"We are thinking about our twenty-something girl who wants fashion. And we decided to think about what she really wants for her wedding, whether it’s as bride or bridesmaid,"commented spokesperson for Asos to FashionUnited. "Every girl and every venue. Vintage, micro, classic, show-stopping - Vegas, church, stately home, low key or something more alternative, there's something for everyone."
The bridal collection is set to launch next March and sit between Asos existing bridesmaid collection and range of tailored suits for men.
