Ispos 40th anniversary

Next year sports equipment fair Ispo will celebrate its 40th anniversary coinciding with the 70th edition. The first international sports fair was held in Munich in 1970 and attracted 11,000 trade buyers from 34 countries. To mark 40 years of Ispo, the fair will also feature new innovations, trends, engaging in talks, testing materials, contacting the athletes, making decisions, and on a whole a all round communications platform in the sports equipment sector.
Over the years the sports market has changed dramatically and Ispo aims to cater the latest trends within the sector. For 2010, Ispo dedicates a hall to 'free riding', and there will be more coverage of running and endurance sports with the addition of a performance. Also, the content of Ispovision and Sportstyle Ispo is being revised to give them a clearer positioning within Ispo.
Messe München International (MMI) organises around 40 trade fairs for capital and consumer goods, and key high-tech industries. The company organises trade fairs in Germany, Asia, Russia, the Middle East and South America. Environmental protection and sustainability are key priorities in all MMI´s operations.
