Premium high street retailer Jaeger has launched a 16-piece capsule collection, anchored by staple denim pieces, in collaboration with ‘Jean Queen’ Donna Ida Thornton.

Thornton, founder of the Donna Ida boutiques and ready-to-wear brand, has created a 16-piece range for the British brand, “responding to the needs of the modern woman, and the versatility her wardrobe requires” Jaeger states.

The collection forms part of Jaeger’s casual offering and centres around key denim pieces targeting women looking for versatile denim, which can be worn at the weekend but also to work, meetings, appointments, on the school run and in the boardroom.

Highlights include the ‘Lola’ dungarees, the ‘Priscilla’ high-waisted ankle skinny jeans, the ‘Mia’ ankle-kick jeans, the ‘Sabrina’ denim split midi skirt and 70s-style ‘Dora’ denim jumpsuit.

Alongside the denim pieces, Thornton has also designed a range of knitwear and shirts such as the ‘Early Edie’ leopard-print curved sweater, the ‘Street Style’ star print funnel neck sweater, and the red ‘Take Me Anywhere’ silk shirt.

There are also two styles of leather trousers completing the collection, the slim leg ‘Carmen’ and the jogger-style ‘Angie’, as well as the ‘Be Bonnie’ silk neck scarf.

Donna Ida teams up with Jaeger on capsule collection

Commenting on the collaboration, Thornton said: “It is an honour to join forces and create a capsule collection, which upholds Jaeger’s sense of British style and also injects the Donna Ida expertise for directional denim pieces and contemporary separates.

“The range will embrace all the aesthetics the Jaeger woman is looking for, combined with Donna Ida’s spirit of youth, energy, and enthusiasm.”

Product director at Jaeger, Liza Webb added: “It has been a real joy working with the Donna Ida team. At Jaeger, we like to work with like-minded individuals, and we’ve certainly found a kindred spirit in Donna.

“The collaboration embraces Jaeger’s new direction, opening up the world of denim, drawing on Donna’s profound experience and reputation.”

Prices range from 120 pounds for the jeans and denim skirt styles up to 175 pounds for the jumpsuit, while the cashmere jumpers are priced between 150-175 pounds and shirts range from 99-150 pounds. The most expensive pieces in the collaboration are the leather trousers priced 450 pounds.

Donna Ida Thornton has become known as the ‘Jean Queen’ after launching the ultimate denim destination to fill a gap in the UK market for jeans that offered the perfect look and fit. Donna Ida has two boutiques, an online store, and in 2012, launched her first eponymous collection.

The Donna Ida for Jaeger collection is available now from Jaeger stores and online.
