Green is the new black and luxurious accessory designer Jas M.B. has picked up the latest trend by teaming up with prolific fashion designer Katherine Hamnett.  For Spring/Summer 2008, Jas M.B. designed an environmental friendly men and women’s bag range. The collection is produced according to the environmental policies of today. The range exists of casual all day bags featuring a sports sack, holdall tote and postman bag made out of chrome-free and vegetable tanned leather, 100% organic cotton canvas and sateen, sustainable linings and recyclable zips. Katherine Hamnett established her name with her political statement T’s in the sixties and more recently by working with supermarket giant Tesco on ethical clothing line ‘Choose Love’. Unfortunately Hamnett is disappointed about this collaboration after it turned out that Tesco only wanted to look ethical, rather then committing to offer it’s costumers a full range nationwide. Early October, the Jas M.B.’s environmental bags will be on display at trade show Tranoi in Paris. After which they will be available at boutique ‘Doors by Jas MB’ on 8 Ganton Street, London.
