Jasper Conran turns writer

British fashion designer made his first foray as a writer releasing his new book Country. In his book he reveals his vision of country  in a personal and photographic essay captured during working and living in the English countryside.

The fact that I am a designer “someone who has worked all his life with fabrics, colours, shapes and textures  does not make me an expert on rural affairs. But when it comes to appreciating the texture of the countryside, I think it might help, comments the designer turned writer.

In Country, Jasper uses his own experiences, and the landscapes and homes that are familiar to him to portray a seductive way of life. Moving from one season to the next, from interior to exterior, from detail to landscape, this is life as it is actually lived in the countryside today.

Jasper Conran is one of the UKs leading designers. He designs clothing, accessories, jewellery, ceramics, crystal, furniture and interiors. He has also designed costumes, and sets for ballet, opera, theatre andlm. His work has been recognized with several awards and in 2008 Jasper was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) by HM The Queen.
