The world's first Jean School is set to launch a new program: the Jean School International Course. The course consists of a shortened program tailored for international students who are looking to study to become denim professionals at the Jean School. According to the Jean School, the idea to launch the course came after it received enormous international interest and an increasing demand for denim experts around the world.

If the course has sufficient participants, it aims to starts its debut program next April. Lessons for the Jean School International Course will take place at the Denim City in De Hallen in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Students who follow the course will be trained to become denim developers; professionals who will 'work with denim in a sustainable way and carry the craft within their fingers.' They will learn how to work with denim design, pattern making, sewing, fit, wash and treatments. The course will also focus on the importance of purchasing and marketing.

The shortened program consists of three modules of three months and after each module has been successfully completed, students be given a certificate. After students have passed the course they will be awarded the international diploma Pearson/BTEC Level 3 diploma in Art & Design – Fashion and Clothing.

The Jean School first opened its doors in Amsterdam in 2012, the result of a partnership between the ROC Amsterdam and the House of Denim. The program is currently working alongside with partners such HTNK, fashion recruitment and consultancy agency and a number of established denim labels such as G-Star Raw, Tommy Hilfiger, Pepe Jeans and Kuyichi.

Other denim events, such as the Kingpins fashion trade show, de Modefabriek, the Global Denim Awards and Amsterdam Denim Days are also involved with the school's courses. Students who have taken on a full-time study will be trained to become Denim Developers and the first students to apply for the course will be graduating this year.
