JJB Sport expands

With the acquisition of Original Shoe Company, Sports retailer JJB Sports is wanting to play into the growing market possibilities of lifestyle apparel. JJB Sports paid £5 million in cash for the Original Shoe sports retailer, which markets are mostly developed in Scotland and Northern England. At the moment, Original Shoe Company has 60 retail outlets featuring various clothing and footwear brands like Lacoste, Converse and Ben Sherman. With the acquisition of Original Shoe, JJB is looking to redesign several of their high street stores into Original Shoe Outlets. These shops will share office functions with JJB, but will be set up as different divisions.
