Fashion designer and artist Julie Verhoeven has teamed up with British luxury label Mulberry. During London Fashion Week a Mulberry for Julie ‘pop-up’ shop based on 199 Westbourne Grove will open its doors for three weeks only, prior to the launch of the Bond Street shop that will collide with Frieze Art Fair on Friday, October 12th.

The graphics of the London based designer give a playful spin to the modern Mulberry classics. The capsule collection features quirky T-shirts, scarves and a silk smock dress. Fantasy figurative drawings with flowers and faces in feminine lines also decorate Mulberry’s designer bags. Prices range from £49 for the Tees to £595 for the quilted bag and the shirtdress is available for £995.

Interdisciplinary talented artist Julie Verhoeven was born in 1969 and learned developed her skills at Central St. Martins. She assisted John Galliano and established her name with her illustrations published in various publications and from working with graphic designer Peter Saville on Showstudio.com’s ‘Forget-me-not’ project. Julie Verhoeven’s distinctive style didn't gpt unnoticed by Marc Jacobs, who commissioned her to design the patchwork for his leather bags.

On September 15th, Mulberry’s design director Stuart Vevers and the artist herself will host an afternoon tea party to celebrate the launch of shop and London Fashion Week. To emphasize Julie Verhoeven’s work, the walls of the shop are decorated with a white fabric called ‘Diamond Pique’ by Mulberry Home. Special tea’s and limited edition Hummingbird Bakery cup cakes inspired by Julie's drawings will be severed. During Fashion Week the cakes are available from the temporarily shop and the Hummingbird Bakery.
