Kate Moss, who for several seasons has been the face of luxury accessory brand Longchamp, has collaborated with the French fashion house to launch a line of Kate Moss for Longchamp bags. This is the first time the model has put her name on a collection other than Topshop.

The official launch party took place at the infamous Ritz Hotel in Paris last week, which saw a bevvy of international personalities come together to celebrate the collaboration between the French leather goods company and a leading fashion icon.

The collection will be launched in London, on Thursday, February 11th, at the Longchamp Boutique on Bond Street, London, and exclusively at ‘The Wonder Room’, at Selfridges, Oxford Street.

The Kate Moss for Longchamp collection is made up of 12 different styles, each one named for one of her favourite haunts in London, such as Soho, Ladbroke, Goldbourne and Gloucester, as well as Glastonbury.

Kate, whose collection for the Topshop chain has been a multi-million pound, soaraway success since she first launched it in the spring of 2007, also recently launched her fourth perfume, Vintage.

Longchamp was founded by Jean Cassegrain in 1948, and the company employed individual craftsmen dispersed throughout the Loire valley countryside to create leather coverings for pipes and other products geared toward smokers. By 1955 it had expanded to include small leather goods, opening its first factory in Segré. By the 1970s, Longchamp opened its first boutiques in Hong Kong and Japan, and became known for its lightweight travel goods.
