Actress Kirsten Dunst is to branch into the fashion business, and is collaborating with American fashion duo Tina Lutz and Marcia Patmos of Lutz & Patmos to release her own capsule collection. Dunst, who is considered one of Hollywood's leading style makers, is best known for her off-beat and quirky looks, and often featured in the celebrity style pages of the broadsheets. Dunst will launch her range during Mercedes Fashion Week in New York on February 3, at Manhattan's New Museum.
Other actresses who have collaborated with Lutz & Patmos include Julianne Moore and Liv Tyler. The designers launched their first collection in 2000 and are based in New York. The ethos of their label is to combine modernity and integrity in their collections without giving into the short-lived cycle of trends.
In related news, Dunst has just made her debut as the new poster-girl for Miu Miu this week. She modeled several whimsical outfits for the spring/summer 2008 ad campaign shot by fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot.
In the UK the collection is available at Matches. Visit www.lutzandpatmos.com for more information.
