Lacoste's new capsule collection with Yazbukey made its debut this morning at Colette. The collection, which includes men's, women's and children's features new twists on polos, t-shirts and shorts, in addition to accessories like beach bags, watches and visors.
“It brought back memories of my childhood watching all these tennis players, and I had so much fun doing the shoot as I pretended I was playing tennis” said Yaz Bukey to WWD.
In 2015, Bukey collaborated with Lacoste on the accessories for the Lacoste x Lesage collection.
The line features tennis-ball shaped emoticons, which help paint the story of a game of seduction between three tennis balls, cartoon expressions and a crocodile. One tennis ball is scared of the crocodile, the other is not interested and the last one just wants to give him a kiss.
Lacoste has been taking a collaborative approach to growing their revenue stream this year. The brand recently unveiled their collaboration with Supreme for fall/winter 2017. In 2015, the brand did a Charlie Brown capsule collection to align with The Peanuts Movie.
Like many luxury brands, capsule collections have become part of their essence, and a usually successful way to make a profit.
