New London based women’s premium jeans label Laundry Maid is launching with its SS09 collection. Designed and manufactured in the UK, the jeans feature a tailored construction and a signature back panel that lifts and shapes the rear, creating a smooth side seam-free fit.

The duo behind Laundry Maid, Barbara Graham and Anita Sheridan, both enjoyed careers in the denim industry. When they first met, they began hatching a plan to launch a premium line of denim made in the UK. After several years of research, Laundry Maid’s debut collection is now available from the brand’s online shop.

The collection has tailored, skinny and knee flare jeans and super-fitted tailored shorts in denim or white cotton. A chino style, with a 70s style button detail, is also available in white. Prices start at £145 for the essential high-waist skinny and classic tailored jeans styles and every pair comes with its own covetable, little lavender bag.

“We wanted to expand the versatility of conventional jeans and develop a tailored fit that is both sexy and flattering,” says Barbara Graham. We also wanted to produce a truly British brand of jeans and we enjoy bringing our individual areas of expertise to the company,” adds Anita Sheridan.

The Laundry Maid designs are limited editions, combining true British attention to detail with a low carbon footprint manufacture. The company is looking to start wholesaling with its AW09 range.
