LFW: Aminaka Wilmont

New comers and winners of design competition Fashion Fringe 2007, Aminaka Wilmont ,presented a strong, feminine look with a futuristic touch. The clothes reminded you of the Hollywood blockbuster ‘the Matrix’.

The design duo Maki Aminaka & Marcus Wilmont, took their inspiration from the 80s movie ‘Tron’ and that computer technology transformed our perception by being able to design in 3-D. The models worked the catwalk in sculptural black headdresses representing the new technical era. Power dresses were made out of leather, the designs featured square shoulder pads and leather armbands supported their cyber chic statement.

If we leave it up to Aminaka Wilmont, the 80s revival hasn't finished as yet. We're very curious what the design couple will come back with next season. The label is available from net-a-porter.com and cutting-edge boutique Concrete in London.
